Chiropractically Speaking
If you recall from my talk, we explain chiropractic through the use of
the safety pin cycle, which demonstrates the vital link between the brain
and the body. Your Innate Intelligence, which created you, re-creates you,
heals you, and keeps you in absolute balance and harmony despite doing
600,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (600x10 to the 24th power) things every
second, expresses itself via that vital link.
Chiropractic's sole purpose is to minimize interference to that vital
link, to allow maximum expression of life. Thus the adjustment becomes a
tool to reconnect, to restore, to release the greatest doctor in the
Universe, who specializes in you. To me this is a spiritual act of love.
The most loving thing I know how to give. This is because I rely entirely
on the magnificent, unfathomable Intelligence that is within you (and
within me). And if I can help restore the expression of that Intelligence within
you, then I believe you are then on step closer to God, Buddha, Mohammed, The Christ, White Light.
Back to the safety pin cycle. Some people have commented during or
after my talk that "the mind controls the body." I don't think that's
true, if by "mind" we're referring to the part of the brain that thinks. The
part of the brain that thinks is capable of some great thinking (and some
stinkin' thinking) but would be hard pressed to do octillions of things
simultaneously. Neither you nor anyone else is capable of intellectually
transforming Twinkies into eyeballs, or making babies, or healing a wound.
The part of the brain that thinks likes to think that it is "you."
Therefore we tend to place the body somewhere below the mind on the scale
of importance, and use phrases such as "my back is killing me" or "my body is
falling apart." We separate ourselves from our bodies, and often treat
them as though they were separate. The mind and the body are not separate.
They are one. Innate controls both. Innate expresses through the mind as
thinking just as it expresses through the heart as pumping. This is why
chiropractic seems to help so many people mentally as well as physically.
This is not to say that the mind does not or cannot affect the body.
We can certainly mess up the body with thoughts of hatred and resentment
and guilt and worry and anger. We can definitely interfere with our normal
and natural state of health and balance with our thoughts. But the only
help our minds can give our bodies is to stay out of the way by thinking
thoughts of love. Innate is already on the job. It doesn't need our help,
just no interference. Let us free it up to do it's works. Let us remove
as much interference as possible from our spines and from our minds. And
let's see what happens.
