Chronic Asthma
I have been a Chiropractic patient for a couple of years now. I sought Chiropractic care for several health related problems. In a passing conversation with a mutual friend I was told that your son suffers from chronic asthma and is controlling this condition with medication. This has been bothering me for over a week and a half now, so I felt I should write you this letter.
I was afflicted at the age of 6 with chronic asthma, hay fever, a stomach disorder and severe allergies. I was unable to play sports without medication. I was unable to eat many foods such as pizza, chocolate, ice cream, and peanut butter. I was allergic to molds, grass, pollen, wool and rubber products.
I had been receiving medication, oral and by injection mostly, from 6 - 27 years of age. I then refused all medical treatment for several reasons - unbearable side effects and I couldn't afford the astronomical medical bills. The severe rashes, which occasionally resurface were caused by large doses of medication doctors said were safe. From this I became allergic to penicillin and all of its derivatives.
Then my mom spoke to a women who was taking her son to a Chiropractor for allergy and asthma problems and she referred us to her him. So that is why I feel compelled to send this letter to you now. After a few weeks of care I felt better then I had in 27 years. I no longer take any medication for my allergies or my asthma. I no longer suffer with digestive problems. I still continue with a maintenance program to stay healthy.
I cannot promise that my Chiropractor will be able to help your son, but if he does, maybe next time 'your' son will be writing this letter to someone who was ill with similar conditions.

It occurred to me that not so long ago, the percentage of patients in "car accidents" on many a Chiropractor's list would have been more than 70%. FSH muscular dystrophy - "Living well with my disease"
While I believe that modern medicine has made some progress, I don't believe that it has done enough to help those of us with FSH dystrophy to live the best life we can.I was diagnosed with FSH muscular dystrophy in 1972, at the age of 22. Over the past 28 years, I have gone to hospitals all over the United States in an effort to find a way to alleviate the symptoms of my disease and perhaps retard its natural progression. I've tried many approaches, including physical therapy, exercise and various "muscle relaxers" and pain medications. It wasn't until 3 years ago when I couldn't get out of bed one morning that a friend of mine brought me to his Chiropractor.
For 3 years now I have been under the care of 2 Chiropractors who have given my life back to me. Through a wonderful husband-and-wife team, I have learned about wellness, nutrition and a holistic approach to health. I have had a light turned on in my body that has given me the ability to not only "live" with my disease, but to "live well." Through the 3 years of continual care, I have been given relief from the constant, lack of energy and, most of all, pain.
While I pray the a cure is found for the disease, I know that there are hundreds of people like me that will never partake in that cure. I cannot offer Chiropractic as a panacea, but I can testify to its benefits.

My Entire Family Has Better Health
Our entire family experienced a variety of health problems before we came to Dr. Jeff. I suffered from low back pain, leg sciatica, headaches and stiffness in my neck. My daughter Lauren (age 9) had mid-back pain, irritability, stress in school and chronic sinus infections. My other daughter Brittany (age 6) had headaches, sinus infections, back pain and school absences due to sickness.
We were taking anti-inflammatories, pain medication, decongestants, nasal steroids and inhalers for health problems. I knew Chiropractic worked since it helped some of my friends but I did not now if it would help my family with all our health problems.
Since beginning Chiropractic my own awareness has greatly expanded and understanding my body has greatly increased. I really did not understand previously what can happen to the human body when subluxations (misaligned vertebrae) occur in the spine. My ability to "tune in" to my body and to the symptoms of my children is growing greater every day.
I am so happy to say my family is no longer taking drugs or medications because we no longer need to do so. The severe back pain is gone and my activity level has increased. My children have become calmer and more joyful. Their school performance has improved, and we now have almost no days of missed school. We all have fewer headaches, less back pain and are less irritable. Overall, we have better health.
